Latest: Christie Brinkley's estranged husband Peter Cook was "suicidal" after the model discovered his affair with his then-teenage assistant, it has been revealed.
Brinkley took to the stand in a New York court for two hours on Thursday to give her testimony in her ongoing divorce trial.
The 54 year old fought back tears as she recalled the pain of learning Cook was cheating on her with an 18 year old in 2006.
And she recalled a telephone conversation she had with him immediately afterwards - when he threatened to kill himself.
She told the court, "He was sobbing and said he was driving erratically and that, 'I'm going to drive into a tree'.
"I said, 'Pull over. You need help.' He said, 'No, I'm going to kill myself.' Then I spent the rest of the day trying to find a place he could go to get help."
Brinkley also touched on the strained relationship between Cook and her 20-year-old daughter Alexa - from her relationship with rocker Billy Joel - describing it as "truly an area that pained me in our marriage".
In her testimony on Wednesday, Alexa accused Cook of once forcing her to clean up a water leak naked - claiming her stepfather even pushed her head into the water. Cook has denied the allegations.
The trial is due to continue on Monday.
